Amadeus X-One

amadeusIn the first qualifying session for the Oschersleben 8 Hour, scheduled for today afternoon, the Team Amadeus X-One did show once more all his potential, recording a good performance and showing to be able to fight for the top positions. After the second free practice session this morning, where the Italian team scored the fifth fastest, just 6/100 slower as Team Bolliger Switzerland, the first qualifying session was scheduled in the
afternoon.

The Team Amadeus X-One riders focused their job to select the best tyre solution to use for the race, looking at the track surface temperature, during the afternoon 28°C constant. In the rider nr.1 heat Paolo Tessari recorded the eight fastest laptime for his group in 1’31”271; in the rider nr.2 heat great exploit for the rookie Ayrton Badovini, third quickest in 1’29”372, always using race tyres. Some problem on the contrary for Willy Gruy, running the rider nr.3 heat. The young Teaxs native lost part of his session because, just restarted from the pit after a tyre change, the session was stopped by red flag, forcing him to rejoin the pit. That stopped his riding pace too, so he scored only a laptime of 1’31”716, 14th fastest of his heat.

After the average lap times from the first qualifying session, the Michelin Power Research Team Honda got the provisional pole position, with the team Amadeus X-One Yamaha in eight position. Without any doubt the team manager Maurizio Bargiacchi is quite satisfied:

“Without the misfortune of Willy, stopped by red flag just after the tyre change, we could surely get a better position, but we are however very satisfied. Our work today has been focused to select the best tyre solution for the race, we have seen they are quite sensible to the difference of track temperature. During next night practice session we’ll verify their behaviour in more cold condition. Today Ayrton has been the fastest between Pirelli riders as well he enter the top ten fastest in the individual laptime. Willy and «Tex» showed a very consistent racing pace, so we are looking to the race with confidence.”

The night tests are scheduled today from 9 to 10 p.m.. Tomorrow Saturday 30th is scheduled the second and final qualifying session, later will be run the Superpole session by the top ten qualified teams to fix the pole position.
