Riders for Health – the official charity of MotoGP – has announced that tickets for Day of Champions 2009 will go on sale on Monday 6th April at 9am.

Fans wanting to see behind the scenes of MotoGP will be able to buy tickets through Riders for Health’s website at www.riders.org.

Day of Champions is one of the highlights of the MotoGP season and each year thousands of fans flock to Donington Park to get the chance to see behind the scenes of MotoGP. This year’s event will take place on Thursday 23rd July.

This year will be the last chance for fans to see inside the paddock at Donington Park before MotoGP moves to Silverstone in 2010.

Riders are pleased to announce that for the third year in a row ticket prices have been frozen, and with free children’s tickets Day of Champions is the perfect place to take the family during the summer holiday.

Tickets can also be purchased through the Day of Champions ticket-line on 08702 242 960 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Former British Superbike Champion, Niall Mackenzie, has confirmed that he will be leading the traditional ride-in to Donington. The ride-in is always a hugely popular start to Day of Champions with participants enjoying breakfast at the Victoria Pub in Coalville before they head to Donington for two parade laps of the famous track.

As always the highlight of the day will be the MotoGP auction. The atmosphere is certain to be electric as the stars of MotoGP appear on the main stage to help raise thousands of pounds for Riders’ lifesaving work in Africa.

More information about Day of Champions will be appearing on the Riders for Health website, www.riders.org, in the run up to the event.

Exclusive MotoGP paddock pass auction for Riders

Fans of MotoGP are being given the chance to get exclusive access to every MotoGP paddock thanks to Riders for Health and MotoGP owners, Dorna. The money raised from the sale of the passes will raise funds for Riders, the official charity of MotoGP, in a series of incredible online auctions.

The new MotoGP season is almost here and in preparation for what will certainly be a fantastic year, MotoGP have donated two pairs of weekend ‘premium paddock passes’ for each race on the 2009 calendar to Riders for Health to auction on our website.

Forget watching the race at home on the sofa, the two winning bidders and their guests will spend the whole GP weekend behind the scenes in the MotoGP paddock. For a chance to get hold of a pair of passes, just visit the online auction section by clicking here.

The first GP is in Qatar from the 10th-12th April, and the first auction closes at 21:00GMT+1 on 5th April 2009.

These passes aren’t on sale anywhere else. Only an extremely limited number of Premium Passes – which grant access to the MotoGP section of the paddock – are available so these passes are even more exclusive than usual!
