Yamaha Recognizes Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month
The United States House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee passed a resolution on April 2 to support the goals of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, taking place each year in May. Beyond the basics of getting trained and licensed before riding, motorcyclists are encouraged to always wear protective gear, never drink and drive and to ride within their limits. The federal government’s support on this initiative will better help bring awareness to riders and their friends and families.
Yamaha has always supported these safety initiatives and develops products that offer riders at every skill level a bike that allows them to enjoy riding, safely – an important factor especially during Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. A great example is the all-new 2009 Yamaha FZ6R, which offers sporty styling and riding in an easy-to-maneuver package. This motorcycle features an all-new engine optimized for smooth, usable power – it also has responsive handling, low handlebars and an adjustable seat to ensure optimal comfort for riders. These new technologies make the FZ6R easier – and safer – to ride than the average sport bike.
I’d be happy to put you in touch with Kevin Foley, Yamaha’s street bike media relations manager to discuss safe riding tips and the all-new FZ6R. I’ll follow up with you next week to see if this is something you’d like to pursue.
