Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Selection Event Taking Place Oct. 6
With 2 local riders defending there are 26 nations represented at the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Selection Event at the Adria International Raceway in northern Italy next Tuesday October 6th. The build up to the 4th Rookies Cup season starts with 39 riders competing to be amongst the handful to invited to join the 2010 Cup alongside those retained from this year’s series.
The best teenage riders from around the globe strive to become part of the Rookies Cup and this year the Selection Process has been tougher than ever because the level of Cup competition has grown through its three seasons. The incredibly tight end of season battles this year showed how the entire field raised its game and the number of riders making the step from Rookies Cup to 125 GP has demonstrated how highly the Cup is regarded by the GP teams.
The level of competition demanded that this year’s successful applicants needed to have exhibited their abilities on high performance motorcycles before being invited to the single Selection Event. In previous years a broader election of Applicants were invited to take part in a two stage Selection Event process.
Shortly after the Adria Selection Event the complete provisional entry list for the 2010 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will be announced.
