vir1Danville, VA (July 23, 2009) - The crowd-pleasing giant TV displays around the track are returning to the tenth Annual Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals presented by Dunlop Tires and Makita at VIRginia International Raceway, August 14-16.

Combined with the full production and coverage of the races on SPEED, the giant LED screens allow fans to see all the action on VIR’s challenging 2.25-mile North Course, instead of only what happens right in front of them. “Guests at VIR’s Big Kahuna races have been treated to some of the best motorcycle road racing ever,” said promoter Cameron Gray. “The giant screens and same-day coverage SPEED just announced only boost fans’ ability to see all the action at America’s finest road course.”

“The action happens all around a road course and the giant TV screens let our guests see all the action,” said track manager Josh Lief. “Fans won’t miss any of the excitement, even if it’s on the other end of the track from where they’re standing.”

SPEED recently announced that they will be returning their TV coverage of the AMA Superbike series to same day, instead of a set time on the schedule, or “appointment viewing,” according to SPEED’s senior vice president of production and network operation, Rick Miner.

Returning the giant TVs and same-day coverage of the events at VIR are just a couple of the great additions at the 2009 Suzuki Big Kahuna AMA Superbike Nationals. The track’s unique layout and friendly surroundings make the VIR experience “second to none,” added Gray. “With the TVs, the scenic surroundings, VIR’s friendly staff and all the fan and family-friendly extras at the event, such as a giant kids corral, an exotic animal display, live music, movie night, vintage bike display any many more attractions, sometimes fans almost forget that there are races going on.”

Tickets for the Suzuki Big Kahuna are available on-line at www.amabigkahuna.com or click on “Buy Tickets” at the track’s home page.

The Big Kahuna Nationals promise more than racing for fans with multiple big-screen television monitors so guests won’t miss any action; bigger and better vendor displays and fun and games with a special section for children in the infield; Vanishing Species endangered animal displays; live music, and more.
