Advance, NC (November 18, 2009) – Mark Burkhart, owner of the Monster Energy Burkhart Racing Team raced in the Spain this past weekend at the GP of Catalunya in Salou, Spain. Burkhart raced with the Motoracing Supermotard Team owned by Franco Mollo.

Burkhart struggled to get a good start in both moto’s on the tight track. Instead he simply focused on working his way through the pack. He placed fourth in the first moto and third in the second moto for second place overall for the day in the S2 class.

“I felt more comfortable for this race but still had some trouble getting a decent start. The track design was very tight and the start headed into a chicane that could only fit one person. People were crashing everywhere and banging bars. In the first race it felt like pinball and I was the ball. I am not sure how I avoided all the chaos, but I was able to come out with a second place finish overall, so I am pretty happy with that,” commented Mark Burkhart.
